Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I'm showing off the new stamp set Ta-da! The magician in this set is so darling!!! I made an interactive card to show off his magical skills!!! I stared with a Silhouette cut files - rotating pie chart and chalkboard labels. In the software i scaled down the pie chart so it would fit on a card. Then i used the cut line of one of the chalkboard labels, made it smaller and moved it over one of the full pie cart pieces, hit the weld button and wa-la it now has a tab!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I cut a back piece and the front piece you see from purple card stock, the tabbed piece was cut from watercolor paper. I cut the actual pie chart piece, but just traced it on the tabbed piece so i would know where to stamp. I stamped several images from the Ta-da! stamp set, the tabbed piece rotates just over half a pie.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I stamped, colored and cut out the magician, his hat and wand. I also colored the images on my tabbed piece. Assembling was pretty easy, i used a brad to hold my back layer, the tabbed layer and the front purple layer. I added the pie cart to my card base, but had the top half extend over the top fold of the card base. Next i trimmed off the bottom portion of my card base so that from tip of pie chart to bottom edge measured 5.5 inches and would fit in an envelope!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i added some pattern paper to the card base, sliding it under the tabbed layer, then added black card stock along the cards bottom. I added the magician with foam dots and placed his at so each image would look like its coming out of the hat. I also stamped Shazam above the magician and added some wink of stella to the sentiment and around each image on the tabbed element (you can't really see this in the photo's but its there!!

The Alley Way Stamps - Sneak Peek #2

Hiya!!!

Today i'm sharing a sneak peek of one of the new sets coming out July 31st from The Alley Way Stamps!!! This is going to be an awesome release!! Today's sneak is of a sentiment set, with maybe a stamp or two from a stamp set that will be on The Alley Way Stamps blog for tomorrows sneak!!

Recently i watched this video - Easy Galaxy with Distress Paints by Kristina Werner and knew i wanted to do something similar with today's card! The only trouble?? I only have one Distress Paint and its Picket Fence (the white)..... So to use what i had on hand i tried it out with Distress Inks instead.... and it turned out pretty nice... though it is kind of hard to go wrong with Distress Inks!!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
So any way to make my galaxy background i pressed Worn Lipstick, Dusty Concord and Tumbled Glass onto my craft mat. Then i added some pearlized water and pressed my watercolor paper in to it. Suffice to say it didn't do as well as the paint in Kristina's video... maybe i needed more water or well maybe just the paint, haha!!!  I continued to add water and ink, until i had most of my panel covered, at one point i used tooo much water and lightly dabbed the extra off.

I let it dry for a few minutes and then pressed the Black Soot ink pad on my mat, added water and pressed the panel into it! It was a hot mess!! It really turned more grey, rather then black and a transparent grey at that! But i continued to add ink, touch of water and pushed the panel around in the ink until i was fairly satisfied! I realized it wouldn't get much darker unless i had some Distress Paint. :D

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I let it dry a bit and then dabbed some of my white Distress Paint on my mat added water and pressed my panel in it, just like Kristina...... it wasn't very dark! (probably because my background is more of a grey, then black!) I repeated this several times but it just wasn;t working much, so i set it aside to totally dry! When it was i used some white opaque ink spray and flicked some ink over, that worked a bit better!!! Let that dry and my background is done, just have to do some stamping!!!

While my panel went through its drying periods, i worked on the remaining elements for my card. I stamped the little aliens from The Alley Way Stamps Bubbling Over stamp set on to watercolor paper. I added water then used the same inks mentioned above, starting with the pink and working my way to the darker colors. I was really messy with it, just dabbing ink here, there, everywhere!! I knew i was going to cut them out, so i didn;t worry about staying in the lines!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I stamped the You're Out of This World sentiment in black pigment ink, let it dry, then cut it out. I covered it with Wink of Stella, so there is a very nice simmer to the strip. I also used a circle die to cut out a black circle.

When the background panel was good and dry i stamped the stars and a little curly q all over. (these stamps are new too!! Stop by The Alley Way Stamps blog tomorrow for the sets official sneak!!) I used a black glitter pen to cover the stars! There is a lot of sparkle on this card!!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Last i just put all my elements together on the card panel. The circle went on first, then i added the sentiment strip and little aliens with foam dots. Added the panel to a card base and wa-la an out of the world kind of card!!!

Thanks so much stopping by!! Make sure you stop by The Alley Way Stamps blog for your chance to win this new set and see the other amazing projects from the Design Team!!

Sending Birthday Wishes

Hi!

I hope every one's weekend was fabulous!! I was really ready for the weekend, the week before was really hard for me. I learned that i did not make in into a Bachelor program at a somewhat local university. I am very disappointed to say the least! I'm not sure what i will be doing going forward. I will be talking to an advisor and am looking at a certificate program that i might do while i wait for year to go by when i can re-apply.... Its really up in the air right now and i still have a week and a day to go before the end of the semester.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Papertrey Ink

So enough of that depressing stuff, on to a card!!! I made this way back when and the card been sitting on my desk for awhile and the photos have been ready, figured today is good as any to share it with you!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Papertrey Ink

At one time i had cut a row of butterflies out of white card stock, the butterflies went on one project and  decided to keep the negatives to use down the road. I think i cut 6 butterflies, but i trimmed off 3 for my card. I covered the white card stock by adding a few colors of distress inks.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Papertrey Ink

Next i covered a piece of paper with some printed washi tape and then adhered the butterfly panel over it. I adhered this on a white card base. Then i die cut a tag, stamped  and stamped the sentiment. I also found a gem that matched the ink i used and added it to my tag. The tag when on the card with foam dots!

That's it today! Stop by tomorrow for my project for The Alley Way Stamps sneak peek!!!

Be Inspired Challenge #55 - Take 1

Hiya!!

Its week 2 with the new photo inspiration over at The Alley Way's Be Inspired Challenge!! The photo is positively yummy!!! I really would love a glass of whatever is in those jars!!! Here's the photo:

I love the colors in this photo and i like to think that the drink is a strawberry limeade, so i went in the strawberry direction! To start i stamped the tiny strawberries from the Hey Cupcake stamp set on watercolor paper. I colored them with my distress markers, cut them out and added a little Wink of Stella.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i wanted to see if i could hang them in a circle window and was hoping the would hand nicely! Well it turned out pretty good! I die cut the circle with a spellbinder circle die. Then i cut the next biggest circle die out of some minty green polka-dot paper.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I added twine and twine bows to each of my strawberries, then i glued them to the inside of the card, making sure you could see them in the circle. To hide the twine and give the strawberries a background i added the green circle with foam tape to the inside of the card, kind of like a shadow box. I decided not to adhere the strawberries with foam tape, but instead left them to hand free. They only move if you shake the card.

Last i bent and stamped the sentiment sweetness around the circle and with a grey marker added lines along the card's edge.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! You have 3 weeks to play along with us at the Be Inspired Challenge, i hope to see your creations!!

We Grew by Four Feet

Hi there!!

Today i'm sharing a card that i made for the current challenge at the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge. The challenge is a Anything Goes and its their 1st anniversary!! Here is the photo inspiration:

There was a lot of white with little pops of pink and blue, which made me think of babies! So i found some light, almost pastel pink and blue pattern paper. I stamped the little onesie from The Alley Way Stamps Nap Time on the pattern paper. I also stamped a tiny heart in each onesie. I cut them out, colored the hearts with a white gel pen and then set them aside.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i die cut several stars from adhesive card stock. I exposed the sticky side and added some glitter. I pressed the glitter into the adhesive, but you still get some that would come off on your fingers, so i added a thin layer of glossy accent to keep everything in place. I let the stars dry over night.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

When the stars were dry i placed then all over my white card base. Because the photo has both pink and blue i wanted my card to have these colors too. So i decided to have twins! The stamp set has the sentiment We Grew by Two Feet, well with twins you have another set of feet, so i with a grey pen i crossed out Two and wrote in Four.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

I stamped the sentiment at the bottom of the card base with the stars above it. I added the two oneise with foam dots (plus a little glue to make sure they stayed on the star).

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Be Happy

Hi!

Today i have cute and simple card! I used a super old chipboard sticker, you click here to see why i'm mentioning it!! It will be the last card in awhile that has these stickers. Not because i have given up using up completing the whole chipboard sheet and rub on thing, but because its the last 2.5 weeks of the semester and this past weekend there was a nice lull that let me work ahead on my cards. In fact i completed 10 cards this weekend!! I got DT stuff done, did a card for a challenge and a few just for the fun of it. So i'll be showcasing those cards and because making cards over the next couple weeks will be sketchy!!!

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Ok on to the card! First i used a Tim Holtz stencil and some blue ink and lightly inked up a background that you can't really see in the picture! This is the second card that i've done this on and you would think i would learn to ink it a bit darker...but noooo...!! :D

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i pulled out Bee Unique from The Alley Way Stamps and stamped the bee on some yellow pattern paper. I cut her out and add some wings. I then stamped the tiny flower that is in the same set all over the background. With a black marker i added centers to the flowers.

I added the be happy chipboard sticker, then the bee with foam dots. See, fun and cute! I also made this last week before my weekend card marathon!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello To You

Hi there!!

Today i'm sharing another card i made way back when!! I played with some Avery Elle stamps designed by Heather Campbell, and made this card when i received the stamps, but alas the card stayed in the 'to be blogged' pile for quite some time!!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Avery Elle
I started my taking a strip of watercolor paper, rounded the bottom corners then stamped and masked the little girl, fox and tree stump. She and the fox are sooo cute!!. Next i found a die cut bow from my extra stuff stash and colored the little girl to match it with distress markers.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Avery Elle

I found a green card base and stamped the tiny hearts with versamark ink. Next i die cut the Hello sentiment then stamped the matching stamp. I also stamped 'to you' on the bow and added a sequin.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Avery Elle

I added the strip to my card base and then added the sentiment and bow with foam dots!! I really need to play with set some more!! There has been so many new stamps i can't keep up!! lol!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Easy Peasy

Hi!!

Guess what?? Its Thursday, which means its almost Friday!! Yay!!! Today i have a super summery card for you!!! I recently found some summer rub-ons and chipboard stickers that are so old, they were probably around in the time of the dinosaurs!!! So i challenged myself to use everything!!! And i mean every image or rub-on!  Here is a picture i took, before i made my card.

I have used a good portion of the rub-ons and only a few of the chipboard stickers. I do have a lonely little rub on 'D' (i must have used part of the sentiment for something else) that i am not going to use, but everything else will make it onto a card... somehow!!! :D

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
Ok so to start i pulled out some orange card stock and a tiny star stencil. I placed the stencil over my card base and with a fine tipped black pen colored in the little stars. Next i die cut the rectangle shaped and used a drink, two fruits, flower and 3 little star things all from my rub-on sheet.
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
Once those were rubbed on my panel, i stamped the sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps set Lemon Squeezy. I used the black pen to draw a lines around the rectangle. I wanted a little more pink, to go with the flower, so i die cut some double ended banners, then colored them with some matching ink. I trimmed the banners to get three and adhered them behind the rectangle panel.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Last i added the panel to my card base with foam dots. I love how bright and summery this card turned out!! Stay tuned for more cards using these super old rub-ons and chipboard stickers!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Waffle Flower Challenge June/July 2014 - Take 2

Hi there!!

** This is my second post today! Click here for my TAWS post! **

Today i'm sharing another card for the NEW Waffle Flower Challenge!! Its super easy to play along you just need to use at least one Waffle Flower product and either follow the sketch or the technique challenge. You have until July 25th to play along!! I can't wait to see your project!!

This time around i followed the sketch. You can click here to see my first card where i did the technique challenge.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

I first found some cool orange chevron pattern paper and trimmed it into an angle, making it smaller on the right but wider on the left. I used the pattern paper to base the colors of my flowers. I used the new Loved stamp set and matching dies. I die cut several of the flowers and leaves, then stamped the flowers in shades of yellow and orange.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - Waffle Flower Crafts

I also stamped the leaves in green. I added a strip of wood washi tape to my white card base, at an angle. Then added my pattern paper stripe with foam dots. Then i added the flowers and leaves, some with foam dots. Last i stamped the Thank You sentiment from the Hey Mr set.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope to see you play along with use at The Waffle Flower Challenge!

From Our House to Yours

Hi there!!!

How is everyone doing? The weekend is almost here, yay!!! So the other day i was working on this card, i had this great idea... however after awhile it really wasn;t working out. I was getting tired (it was probably evening) but i didn;t want all my work to go to waste so i whipped up this card before i quit for the evening!
Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps
I first stamped the wreath branch several times on my card base. I rotated the stamp a little each time and also stamped it again before re-inking. Next i stamped the little bow and then colored it with a red distress marker. I cut it out and added it to my card with foam dots.

Dana Warren - Kraft Paper Stamps - The Alley Way Stamps

Next i stamped the sentiment From Our House To Yours inside the wreath. Last i added a few red metallic sequins to the wreath! Super easy and fast!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!
